Step 1: Register your kit first at color.com/test/activate.
Register your kit the same day you collect your sample. The lab cannot process your sample without this step.
Wash your hands.
Step 2: Open the tube.
1. Twist the cap to break the seal.
2. Then pull the cap off to remove the swab.
Step 3: Collect your sample.
1. Hold the swab at the red mark with your dominant hand (the hand you write with)
2. In a comfortable position, use your free hand to spread the skin of the vaginal opening and carefully insert the swab up to the red mark.
3. Gently rotate for 10–30 seconds, then carefully withdraw.
4. Place the swab back into the tube and recap firmly until you hear a click.
5. Place the tube with the collected sample into the biohazard bag and seal completely.
Step 4: Pack your sample
1. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
2. Place the sealed bag into the return box.
3. Peel the adhesive strip and close the box securely.
4. Place the closed box in your return mailer bag and seal it.
Step 5: Mail within 24 hours.
Take your package to a FedEx return location the same day if possible, and no later than 24 hours after collecting.
