How do I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

You can reschedule or cancel your appointment through the link in your appointment confirmation email. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please contact Color Support at 844-352-6567 or mycovidtest@color.com.

Does the nasal swabbing hurt?

In most cases we use nasal swabs for testing. The nasal swab, also known as an anterior nares swab, only goes into the nostril a little bit. The technician will insert the swab just into the nostril and gently rotate it to gather the sample. It shouldn’t hurt or feel too uncomfortable. The nasal swab is different from the nasopharyngeal swab which is used by some other sites, and is a longer swab that can feel uncomfortable and sometimes results in light bleeding.

How long will it take to get my results?

Results typically take 1-3 days, though the actual time may vary. If you feel you are experiencing severe or worsening symptoms, do not delay seeking medical care while waiting for your results. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that people experiencing the following symptoms get emergency medical attention immediately: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to stay awake or wake after sleeping, bluish lips or face.

How will I know when my results are ready?

We’ll text you at the phone number you provided. If you provided an email address, we’ll also send you an email. You can also visit color.com/covid-test to check if your results are ready. You’ll need to enter your date of birth and the test barcode found on your handout.

What do I do if I’ve lost my barcode?

Please do your best to keep your barcode. Losing it may delay access to your results. Some people take a photo of it with their phone, just in case. If you lose your barcode, please contact Color Support for assistance at 844-352-6567 or mycovidtest@color.com.

Who will my results be shared with?

You and the physician who ordered your test will receive a copy of your results. We will also share your results with your state and/or local health department, as required by law. Your results may also be shared with your employer to keep our workplaces safe and healthy. Please visit color.com/covid-support for more information about your program.

How do I get a copy of my results to my personal doctor?

If you didn’t provide your doctor's information when scheduling, you can download your results when they are ready and share them with your doctor. You can also call Color Support (844-352-6567) and request that we fax your doctor a copy. This could take a few days or longer due to high volume.

Can I talk to someone about my results?

We recommend that you contact your primary care provider to discuss your results.

What is Color?
