There is often close correlation between the results from a home blood test, using a dried blood spot card, and the results from a lab test, using a traditional blood draw. Both home blood tests and lab tests can be used for screening of certain conditions. Sometimes a confirmatory lab test will be recommended by a healthcare provider if the home blood test shows values that are out of range.
