The lab cannot process your sample without this step!
Wash your hands.
Get all the pieces of the kit and place them in front of you. Read all of the instructions so you know what to expect.
Unfold the collection paper fully and put it in the toilet, on top of the water.
Note: We’ve included an extra collection paper, in case you need it. Only use one at a time.
Deposit a stool sample on the paper in the toilet.
Note: Collect the sample before the paper sinks. Don’t let the stool touch the water.
Put on the gloves
Note: They’re latex-free.
Open the tube by twisting and pulling off the cap and probe.
Note: There is liquid in the tube. Be careful not to spill it.
Use the probe to scrape the surface of the stool. Cover the grooved part of the probe completely with stool.
Place the probe back in the collection tube and close it tightly. Do not reopen it.
Note: The collection paper is biodegradable and can be flushed.
Throw away the gloves and wash your hands.
Put the collection tube in the biohazard bag. Seal the bag.
Note: The tube should go inside the rigid plastic insert in the biohazard bag.
13. Put the biohazard bag in the return shipping bag. Seal the bag.
14. Drop your sample at a USPS mailbox or post office.
Note: Samples should be put in a mailbox mailed to the laboratory within 24 hours of collection.
