Privacy is a common concern and there are certain questions that can help you understand how a genetic testing company ensures your data is secure.

At Color, we help guide our clients’ healthcare decisions through tools like clinical-grade genetic testing and personalized health insights. Safeguarding the privacy and security of your personal health information is among our most important responsibilities.

We rigorously follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) regulations. Your identifiable results will not be sent by Color to your insurance company, employer, or any healthcare provider outside your ordering provider, additional providers you designate, or their clinics and health systems without your consent.

There is also a federal law prohibiting genetic discrimination by health insurers and employers, called the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act, or GINA. Learn more about GINA and HIPAA.

You can find a summary of Color’s privacy practices at color.com/privacy. You can also find more details in our Privacy Policy, Notice of Privacy Practices, and Informed Consent. If you have any questions or concerns, please write to us at privacy@color.com.
